The lady weavers make the coiled woven baskets, using raffia and banana stalk which is known as “bukeddo” Raffia is great to use amongst its assets  it's a light fibre it's length makes it an ideal material for basket weaving and it can be dyed into almost any color.The raffia  is removed from a long palm-like leaf usually grown in the forests and the bukeddo is harvested from the banana plantations. The weavers pass on their skill to children at the tender age of 9 years from mother/ grandmother. Finished pieces are used for fruit gathering, food preparations or given away as wedding gifts.

 This baskets comes in three sizes: 25-35 and 40 cm's(circumference of the basket at its widest point)
